The Peninsula Clinical Trials Unit (PenCTU) is a UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC) Registered Clinical Trials Unit, currently supported by a NIHR CTU infrastructure grant. The PenCTU has expertise in developing, supporting and coordinating multi-centre clinical trials and other well-designed studies, and works with research networks and key partners to deliver the full spectrum of clinical trial expertise across the South West Peninsula.

How we work

To ensure efficient and timely support, investigators planning new studies should complete the PenCTU Support Request Form detailing the nature of their project and their requirements at least 6 weeks before any funding applications are submitted. A representative of the PenCTU will then contact the Investigator to discuss the support required.

The PenCTU is also able to support studies that have already been funded. While priority will be given to studies that have sought PenCTU involvement prior to the grant application, studies that have already secured funding will also be considered. For a description of the support services the PenCTU can provide, please visit the Available Support page.
