Peninsula Clinical Trials Unit support falls into two categories; project design and project delivery. Complete the Support Request Form to send your support request to the PenCTU. A member of the PenCTU staff will then contact you as soon as possible to discuss your request.

Project Design

The PenCTU can support researchers to help them prepare high quality funding applications. PenCTU design support and expertise include:

  • Trial and study design

Note: Named PenCTU support on funding applications will require input into the project design/conception by PenCTU staff and peer review/sign off by one of the two PenCTU Directors.

Project Delivery

The PenCTU also provides the necessary range of methodological and trial management skills and resources to allow researchers to undertake and deliver high quality studies following external funding.
These include:

  • Data analysis – quantitative, economic and qualitative
    • Statistical analysis planning
    • Statistical advice and analysis
    • Contribution to report writing
  • Randomisation & concealment – stratification/minimisation, web based methods
  • Trial management, e.g.
    • Advice on IMP trials
    • Advice on adverse event monitoring
    • Access to and advice on PenCTU SOPs
  • Data capture and storage
    • Data entry
    • Data management advice
    • Database set-up
  • Administrative support
  • Statistician and health economist advice on contribution to Trial Steering Committees (TSCs) and Data Monitoring and Ethics Committees (DMCs)
